My journey – I finally start my training

I finally start my teeth whitening course

aleve-good-for-tooth-pain-implants-cost-africa-false-south-24022So UK Dental Care sent a trainer to my house to begin my training.  I was a bit nervous about this as I didn’t really know if my house would be the right place to conduct the training.  Getting 1-2-1 training was important to me for two reasons.  Firstly, I had a part time job at the time and it meant that I wouldn’t have to take time off work (the training was booked for the evenings).  Secondly and possibly more importantly I was looking for more than just sitting in a classroom environment.  I had questions which had to be answered about the process of teeth whitening and regarding the business of teeth whitening which I wanted to quiz my trainer regarding.  1-2-1 training was my opportunity to speak and learn from someone in the industry.

My trainer’s name was Rob.  Rob arrived with his full set of machinery which was mobile.  He assured me that we would be able to carry out the training at my house without any problems.  The training was intense.  I was initially intimidated by some of powerful machinery that Rob had brought with him.  He had brought a laser machine which helped with the whitening process.  My first attempt at using the machine was a disaster.  I was very nervous and still remember shaking throughout the whole procedure.  With practice however I quickly got more and more confident.  Over the course of the next two evenings I learnt the processes and theory of teeth whitening.  After practicing I also tried the process on friends and family while being supervised by Rob.  I could now see myself as being a teeth whitening technician.  Things couldn’t have been any better.  I also asked Rob a lot to do with starting my own clinic and he was helpful enough to talk me through some important things to be aware of in terms of marketing my business and also regulation.   I still call Rob to this day if I have any questions that I can’t answer, and I’d like to think that we’ve become good friends.

The second job that was left for me to do was decide on exactly where my clinic would be situated.  I am from Doncaster.  Not the biggest town in the UK I know, but Rob had assured me that was enough demand for teeth whitening in the UK no matter where you were situated.  The main things for me to take into account were the clinic should have good transport links.  So ideally be close to some busy bus routes or train station.  Having cheap or free parking available close buy was also something that I felt customers would appreciate.   I decided to look in the town centre and after visiting some local estate agents I managed to put together a list of possibilities that met my criteria.

I think that enough for now.  Read my next article where I will be finally opening my clinic.
